Tour info:
Some FAQs:
After a 30 minute or so breakfast of breads, butter, jams, nutella, fruit, and tea/coffee/juice, we head to our first event of the day, usually a tour of an area of the city. Then we may visit one of the sites before lunch around noon or 1.
Lunch is usually around 1.5 to 2 hours "on our own". This means that students must pay for their own meal, and that we can choose where we go. Usually each teacher takes a group of kids to an agreed on restaurant or café so we may have 3-4 different groups. However the students are not allowed to go anywhere without one of the teachers/chaperones.
After lunch, we meet back as a whole group at a predetermined meeting point to continue on to our afternoon activities.
Around 7 we go to dinner at a place chosen by EF tours for dinner. There are a limited amount of choices, usually 2-4 choices of meals.
After dinner, we return to the hotel, usually by 9 or 10. We do a room check and tell the kids the wake-up time for the next day.
The teachers will all be familiar with the kids traveling, and each teacher will have a particular group they are in charge of. This helps with head counts, room checks, etc.
That being said, we expect a certain level of maturity from our travelers, and we ask them to watch out for themselves and each other as well.
Students are not allowed to roam freely through the town. Predetermined "back up plans" and meeting locations will be in place in case a student is for some unforeseen reason separated from the group. We all have international phones as well and will be posting and/or text messaging updates as we go.
The fees include everything you will need for the trip except lunch, souvenirs/shopping, snacks, and beverages other than at breakfast or dinner. If you tally the cost of flights, transportation between each city, hotels, food, and admission to the various sites, you will see that having the "Group rate" is lower. Also, there is a set itinerary so you know where your child and what your child is doing each day.
